Description: The new Front-of-Package (FOP) nutrition symbol labelling is now required for packaged foods containing saturated fat, sugars, and/or sodium at or above specified thresholds. It is designed to help consumers make informed choices by quickly identifying foods high in these nutrients.
The nutrition symbol labelling has been in effect since July 20, 2022, and the transition period will end on January 1, 2026. In this webinar, the Food Centre will provide insight into the key elements of the FOP nutrition symbol labelling and what it means for food manufacturers.
Join Food Centre expert, Dr. Anula Perera, Food Scientist as she highlights:
• The purpose of the FOP nutrition symbol and why it matters.
• Which foods require this labeling and how thresholds are determined.
• Placement guidelines for compliance.
