Six Indigenous businesses from across Saskatchewan were celebrated tonight at Wanuskewin Heritage Park during the 2026 SOAR Indigenous Pitch Finale, where finalists competed for a share of the program’s largest-ever prize fund of $70,000.
Originally launched by the Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority (SREDA) in 2022, SOAR supports Indigenous entrepreneurs through mentorship, workshops and opportunities to advance their businesses. This year marked a significant milestone for the program as it expanded province-wide through a new partnership between SREDA’s SK Startup Institute and the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT).
In celebration of SIIT’s 50th anniversary, SOAR’s prize fund was increased to $50,000, with an additional contribution from Affinity Credit Union bringing the total to $70,000. This expanded investment creates greater opportunities for Indigenous entrepreneurs to invest in their businesses and pursue future growth.
